Fresh Peach Cobbler

4-6 pounds fresh peeled, sliced peaches
2 cups brown sugar
2 cups flour
2 tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp salt
2 eggs
2/3 cup melted butter

Place sliced peaches in 9 x 13 glass pan. Combing sugar, flour, baking powder and salt in medium bowl. Add eggs and mix with a fork until crumbly. Spread on top of peaches. Drizzle melted butter evenly on top. Bake uncovered at 350 degrees for 25- 30 minutes or until crisp. Serve warm with vanilla ice cream.

Quick Brined Pork Chops

4- 12 oz. pork rib chops (1 inch thick)
2 quarts water
1 cup sugar
1 cup salt
1 1/2 tsp. red pepper flakes
1 Tbsp. olive oil
Salt and pepper

1. Put 1 quart water in saucepan. Stir in sugar, salt, and red pepper. Bring to boil over high heat. Reduce heat to medium and simmer for one minute. Stir until sugar and salt dissolve.

2. Remove from heat and add 1 more quart of cold water and allow to come to room temperature. Submerge pork chops and let soak in fridge for 10 to 30 minutes.

3. Remove and pat chops dry with paper towel.

4. Brush chops with olive oil and season with salt and pepper.

5. Grill over medium heat turning once, about 12 minutes.

Ronda's Chocolate Carmel Bar's

1 box German chocolate cake mix
1/2 cup canned milk
3/4 cup melted butter
2 cups chopped nuts

Mix together and pour 1/2 of mixture into well greased and floured 9 x 13 pan. Pat mixture down. Bake at 350 degrees for 6 minutes.

Take out of oven and top with 1 1/2 cups chocolate chips.

Dissolve 50 light caramels in a double broiler. Add 1/2 cup canned milk. Stir and pour over chocolate chip mixture. Take rest of dough mixture and crumble on top. Bake at 350 degrees for 15-18 minutes. Let cool for 2 hours and cut into squares.

Grandma Hyde's Applesauce Cookies

3/4 cup shortening
1 cup brown sugar
1 egg
1/2 cup applesauce
2 1/4 cups flour
1/2 tsp soda
1/2 tsp salt
3/4 tsp cinnamon
1/4 tsp cloves
1 cup raisins
1/2 cup nuts

Mix together shortening, brown sugar and egg. Stir in applesauce, mix together flour, soda, salt, spices. Stir into mixture. Mix in raisins and nuts. Drop onto greased cookie sheet. Bake 375 degrees for 10 to 12 minutes.

Grandma Rose's Washboard Cookies

1 cup shortening (or part butter)
1 1/2 cups brown sugar (pack in cup)
2 eggs
1 tsp soda
1/4 cup hot water (or sour milk or buttermilk)
1 cup coconut (ground or flaked)
t tsp vanilla
3 2/3 cups flour
1/4 tsp salt
1 1/2 tsp baking powder

Cream shortening, add sugar gradually and cream thoroughly. Add hot water and soda. Add coconut and vanilla mix well and sift flour, salt and baking powder together. Chill and form into balls and press with fork dipped in flour. Bake 350 for 10 minutes.

Broccoli Salad

2 bunches of broccoli (chopped)
3 or 4 pieces of crumbled bacon
1 cup medium cheddar cheese (grated)
3 oz of craisins (about 3/4 cup or as many as you like)
1/2 cup sliced or chopped almonds
a little chopped onion

Mix above ingredients and toss together with dressing.

Dressing: 1 cup light mayo, 1/2 cup sugar, 2 tablespoons vinegar

Death By Chocolate

1 pkg. Devils Food Cake Mix
1 cup milk chocolate chips
1 jar Mrs. Richardson's caramel butterscotch topping
1 can sweetened condensed milk
1 container Cool Whip
Heath chips or Heath candy bars chopped up

Mix cake according to directions on box. Pour into pan. Before baking, sprinkle chocolate chips into batter. Bake. Cool until slightly warm. With handle of wooden spoon, poke holes halfway through cake. Mix 2/3 of jar of caramel topping and can of sweetened condensed milk together. Pour over top of cake and allow it to soak into cake. Refrigerate. Just before serving, spread Cool Whip on cake and sprinkle Heath chips over Cool Whip. Store in refrigerator.
